You’re currently editing a video project on DaVinci Resolve when a glaring red “Media Offline” notification appears on the “Preview” window. You also notice that that particular clip on the timeline is missing.While this can be frustrating, you can easily fix the DaVinci Resolve media offline issue with a few simple steps.To fix the DaVinci Resolve media offline issue, do these steps:Select the “Edit” tab.Click a video clip on the timeline.Select “Find in Media Pool” after you right-click the media clip.Right-click the video clip in the media pool and select “Reveal in Finder” (Mac) or “Reveal in Media Storage” (Windows).Take note of the video file name and the last location DaVinci Resolve found it before selecting “OK.”Search for the video clip on your computer.Move the video clip back to its previous location.Whenever you encounter the “Media Offline” issue, it means that DaVinci Resolve can’t find the file of the media clip. In simpler terms, DaVinci Resolve cannot locate the source of the media you added.This is usually caused by transferring the media clips to a new folder. Not to worry, as you don’t have to manually search for the media files in your computer and then add them to DaVinci Resolve. Fix this media offline issue with a few steps.Select the “Edit” tab.You’ll find “Edit” between “Cut” and “Fusion” on the bottom menu bar.Click a video clip on the timeline.You should see a red outline surrounding the video or media clip you selected.Select “Find in Media Pool” after you right-click the media clip.This is the 6th from the last option on the dropdown menu. Alternatively, you can also use the “Alt + F” keyboard shortcut to activate this command.This command allows you to search the media file that went offline from your device.You should now see a highlighted clip on the media pool.You’ll also see the “Link Clips” option in the same dropdown menu to delete an audio track without affecting the video clip itself.Right-click the video clip in the media pool and select “Reveal in Finder” (Mac) or “Reveal in Media Storage” (Windows).You’ll find this option between “Change Source Folder…” and “Open File Location” on the dropdown menu.If DaVinci Resolve can track the media clip’s location, it will show you through a window.
